The New Evangelisation
Following on from the teachings of Pope John Paul II and Pope Benedict XVI, Pope Francis has continued to identify the need for a New Evangelization in the Church of the 21st century.
To assist him in this task he is supported by the Pontifical Council for Promoting the New Evangelization. This Pontifical Council produces materials and resources for various initiatives, including the World Day of the Poor, Sunday of the Word of God, Cribs at the Vatican, and 24 Hours for the Lord.

Sunday of the Word of God: This is a pastoral initiative of the Pontifical Council for Promoting the New Evangelization, with the aim of reviving the responsibility that believers have in knowing Sacred Scripture and keeping it alive through prayer and reflection.
The date set for 2022 is Sunday 23rd January.
